About Water Efficiency Measures
waterwise

Water efficiency is about using less water – making the most of every drop of water we use. Water like any other resource, should be used efficiently because we need to minimize our impact on the natural environment.

Water efficiency is enabled by technology and by changing our behaviour to use less water. For example, we can use washing machines that have a high water efficiency rating (technology) and only using them when they are full (changing our behaviour).

The Board of Busselton Water has been requested by the State Government to carry the responsibility for the local introduction and management of the statewide water efficiency measures.

It is the Board’s intention to introduce the measures through an educational program, endeavouring to be sensitive at all times to customer’s needs and aspirations. The Board acknowledges however, that the laws, now place absolute limitations on the use of scheme water.

Busselton Water acknowledges that the measures will create new challenges for Busselton Water and its customers. With this in mind Busselton Water will be making every effort to communicate the new changes to its customers and also ways in which you can still maintain a health garden while complying with the water efficiency measures.
