Community Engagement Program

Note:  Applications for 2010 close at 4pm on Friday 26th February, 2010.  Click here for Community Engagement Program Advertisement.

Busselton Water’s Community Engagement Program focuses on Busselton Water's priority of striving for the attainment of excellence in the supply, management and sustainability of water services, through community education and building community relationships.

It also seeks to highlight the value set which Busselton Water aspires to and further seeks to emphasise the strong community alignment of Busselton Water.

Busselton Water will endeavour to provide support which encourages the adoption of good water conservation practices and promotes Busselton Water as an innovative and sustainable organisation serving the community, particularly within its serviced area.

We will consider proposals from schools and organisations/groups that can demonstrate their proposal has a direct community benefit and that it supports the vision, values and goals of Busselton Water.

 Core Values

In promoting our position, an overview of our core values and attributes would include:

• Being customer and community focussed
• Being consistent and reliable
• Respect for our environment
• Enhancing opportunities for quality of life in the community
• Healthy living through quality water and an adequate and reliable supply of water
• Growth and sustainability of water through education
• Promote responsible use and the conservation of water

Expectations of Busselton Water

Busselton Water will consider support for approved activities for community engagement - for example, provision of expert assistance, advice, resources and education materials. (Busselton Water’s stature does not allow cash contributions to be made).

Busselton Water will also consider support of the above nature for approved activities that can demonstrate an ability to effectively build ongoing community relationships.

Busselton Water will call for expressions of interest in the program annually in February and present recommendations to the Board for consideration in April. This does not preclude applicants applying at anytime, however they will normally not be considered until the following April.

All applicants will be advised of the outcome of the Board’s decision in May.

Evaluation

An evaluation of all support provided by Busselton Water will be undertaken to ensure it has met program objectives.
